ESAFORM Association

ESAFORM is an European association with the mission to stimulate the applied and fundamental research in the field of material forming.

ESAFORM's main goals are:

  • Spreading scientific and technological information within academic and industrial communities.

  • Establishing communication between industry and research laboratories.

  • Promoting the teaching of material forming sciences in universities.

  • Promoting and facilitating collaborative projects and European networking in the field of material forming.

  • Strengthening co-operation between national, European and international organisations.

  • Encouraging interdisciplinary research in the area of material forming.

ESAFORM publishes an official journal and organizes many scientific activities.

The flagship event is the annual conference on Material Forming, where ESAFORM members and other participants meet to discuss their research.

ESAFORM awards annual prizes to the distinguished researchers/designers who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of material forming.
 

ESAFORM 2010 Conference

Aims and scope of the conference

The 13th annual ESAFORM conference covers a multitude of disciplines related to material forming. These materials include metals, polymers, ceramics and composites. Other materials, for example, biomaterials are also of conference interest. All traditional and new forming processes are relevant. It is expected that a variety of techniques including theoretical analyses, experimental testing and numerical simulations will be used. A good combination of fundamental approaches and applied science would be particularly welcomed. Traditionally, this conference is organised around a series of mini-symposia.
